When I arrived at the Hyperion running his mission, finishing up the final few rats, I hoped I would have fun. After looting, he sends his Warrior II drones off to my Vigil. I warp off after making sure he was red to me. Returning in my Hound, knowing the warp-in is a good 50km from him. Not going to do good there with the Jaguar being eaten by those drones.
I figured I would be able to kite the drones, should he send them at the hound. I was right. I let him target me, send the drones, and then blew a few of them up as I dragged them out of his range. They started to return to him, but he warped off and left the drones. Poor drones. I dispatched them all. He returned again, and shot me a bit with his railguns, and then warped off for a final time.
I cloaked and told him, in local, he could return because I was done with him. I was hanging out near the warp-in spot, hoping to be under range of his long guns should he return. He never did. In fact, I found that he had banned me when I tried to open a conversation with him. I never got the kill, but I did enjoy killing his final mission rat for him. Nice to see the Hound take damage from rats, too. It was a $1,000,000 rat, so that was nice. Though I won’t get the bounty, however. Just a good gauge of ship strength/skill since I hardly ever take ships into a mission.
Silent tears are awesome tears.
Memorial Day weekend was fun – I did the expected family stuff and rested a lot. Then, spent some time with my Ninjas. I ended up getting involved in a fleet op *just* a little bit too late. In fact, I was able to convince the Dominix pilot to shoot me (seriously: via chat) but just as he did, he already had died. So I couldn’t sneak my way into the mail. I didn’t have mumble, so I couldn’t keep up with much of the details so I cut that short.
The alt is in another corp. A new, fresh corp. Which is good and bad. On the infiltration things – it’s bad because there is nothing there for me to steal yet. But on a good note, if I behave and just leave because “real life is keeping me away, etc.” or something on a good note, it’s a good reference for the next guy should I say I don’t agree to an API check and give references instead.
The night ended with a lesson for a newbie: *never* ignore the “don’t steal this” warning.
Closed up the night with the purchase/fitting of a Jaguar – going to try that since I seem to be attached to the Wolf/Jag/Rifter feel lately.
Burning 70km toward the interceptor is not a good idea. But really, who cares? It’s just 8 million, and internet spaceships. I am enjoying this “go out and shoot stuff” stuff. #tweetfleet ftw!
Someone in local complaining about a pirate in his mission. Wanting to pay 10Mil for his pod.
I said, “I’ll do it,” before I even saw that the pirate was a fellow corp mate.
My intent was to go with the pirate and just piss the MR off. But it got better. I got the MR to invite me to a fleet, and when I arrived, I was something like 50k away from them. I told the MR I would return in a better ship and it was ok to grab that jet can from that nasty dirty pirate.
So by the time I returned, the pirate was red to the MR and the MR was red to the pirate. I left fleet, and a few seconds later, the MR had corp aggro.
While I enjoyed the nice Domi kill – and it was nice to work with a fellow Ninja, I felt I didn’t do my part very well. I spent time painting the target, and killing the drones. But it was almost going to end bad. When the fellow ninja swapped out for a cane, and he went into structure – but the MR was going down faster through structure too.
So I kept focus on the drones, and hoped I could pop a few of them off and lower the DPS on the cane. It started to work, and boom went the Domi.
So, realized I had to return to Agral tonight, when DOTLAN mentioned there were gobs of npc mobs killed in the last 24 hours.
It was nice for Ave to give me a nice say mention they enjoy my blog. That’s always a plus, since I tend to enjoy it, too!
The local tears from Darvids0n were interesting. For a character around from 2007, they didn’t realize I wanted them to shoot at me. I was red to him, too. No bother, I’ve got four or five other scans to work up tonight, too.
Then it’s back to low-sec for a PI mat run, and maybe play with my stabber. Losing the wolf last night makes me want more PVP experience. Bad.
I lost the wolf to a Caldari Navy Hookbill tonight. Which not only was fun, but kind of gives me hope for what I thought was a shitty ship. He wouldn’t give me the fitting, though, but that’s ok. Thermal wasn’t doing shit, so he could have probably fit it with resists and whatnot – eg: paying attention.
I had fun, though. Convo after was polite, too.
Lesson learned: The wolf can circle close, but so can the CN Hookbill. And the “friend” helping a MR who is obviously PVP fit will kill me. (That’s the point, no?!)
He was able to gain aggro because I politely jettisoned some ammo to help the process along. ;)
